"I am a private homeowner. When I bought a home and inherited my first pool with the purchase of that home, my very experienced pool owner sister told me I was NUTS to invest in a commercial pool vacuum. From day 1 to today (10 years later), I have never regretted the investment. Since we have had the Pool Weasel, we have NEVER had an algae bloom, we can easily care for our pool instead of using a service, the Weasel worked as a backup pump the two times our main pump failed (without incident),it has survived 10 years in the salty air in our shed ( we are on a small brackish river), and we no longer need to use algaecide and expensive chemicals!. Bleach, borax and baking soda along with the Pool Weasel and we are good to go! The Pool Weasel has paid for itself already! I wish this US Based company every ounce of success!! I would also like to add that our pool liner has lasted FOUR years more than expected! I believe this is due to the fact that we don't need as many chemicals and that the Pool Weasel makes it easy to care for the pool on a consistent basis."

Pool Water Saving Configuration Tips or How Much Will The Pool Weasel Save Me?

Tips for you to use to configure your pool and the amount of its water and water loss. To find the amount of water in a pool you need to calculate how many cubic feet are in that pool and multiply that by 7.48 (which is how many gallons of water are in a CF. cubic foot) So a pool that is 40’ wide by 80’ long (JR. Olympic) and has an average depth of 5’ becomes:

40 x 80 x 5 x 7.48 = 119,680 *gallons of water * this isn’t taking considerations for a diving well.

To find the amount of water lost during back washing filters, each municipality has a standard turnover rate. Most use 5 or 6 hours. I will use 6 hours in these calculations. Now our JR. Olympic pool with 119,680 gallons has to have minimum capabilities of filtering that amount of water in 6 hrs. or 360 minutes.

119,680 divided by 360= 332 gallons per minute. A proper back-wash cycle is 5 minutes. While this is happening there is no head or pipe friction to the water flow 332 x 110 % = 365 g.p.m. x5= 1825 gal. If a pool is back-washed 5 times a week as Dept. of Health would prefer, it becomes 9125 gal. per week turned into sewage.

The Pool Weasel can save 66% or 6022 gals. of chemically treated and sometimes heated water per week normally lost during backwashing.
